The creative mind works in a very unique way. It sees beauty and stories in their surroundings all the time.
Today, we are meeting with a talented illustrator and independent fashion designer Ely Gordeeva. She loves to paint all the good things: God, angels, flowers, vegan lifestyle, animals and happy families. Originally from Russia, she and her husband, who is as creative as well, live on the beautiful island of Bali.
“Even as a child, I loved to look at-spots, silhouettes on rust, stains on the walls, wallpaper and carpets, to dry spots from puddles on the pavement and scattered tea leaves in a cup.”
Vladimir Icon of St. Mary
“I would not only see an image and say “Oh, it looks like an elephant!” but I would see complete stories, complex composition and special angles. Recently, I again remembered this child’s play.”
We hope you will get inspired by Ely’s imagination and next time you see a coffee stain or a crack on the wall, you be able to create your own story.
